Microbats
Four chamber Microbat with
side removed
There are more than 60 species of micro bat in Australia.
During the day, they seek a confined space to rest before emerging at dusk to feed on a range of insects.
Our boxes are designed to provide a range of spaces depending on colony sizes. Single and double chamber boxes are typically installed in close proximity in groups of 3-5. These are a wedge shape box and provide shelter for small numbers of bats.
Bigger 3 and 4 chamber boxes provide larger colonies with a suitable roosting site. These boxes can be ordered in widths of 200mm, 300mm or 400mm depending on how many and species of bat in the locality.
All styles of box can be mounted in either front entry (entrance faces away from supporting structure) or rear entry (entrance faces the tree or other supporting structure).
Rear entry mount offers more protection from opportunistic predators as bats enter or exit the roost.
All boxes are supplied fully assembled and include hanging wire and tree protector. They can also be ordered in a 'bridge mount' version if they are required to be secured to a pole or brickwork rather than a live tree.
